What You Should Know

Safety

Safety for victims of domestic, teen and sexual violence is HAVEN’s first priority. HAVEN's direct service staff provide information and support, knowing that it’s up to the victim to decide if and when it is time to leave an abuser.

Identifying Support

Many abusers isolate their victims geographically and socially. As a result, their victims have lost their support system when they need it. Developing a support network can be very helpful when planning for your safety. There are many people and places to turn to for help. For more information about safety, call HAVEN.

Our work is not only about safety, and empowering survivors. HAVEN also raises public awareness about domestic violence and helps foster social institutions and communities in which abuse is not tolerated. HAVEN provides opportunities to work towards social change through volunteer opportunities, community education, professional training, media campaigns, and youth-education groups.
