Who We Are
HAVEN From Domestic Violence (Help Against Violence Encounters Now!) is a nonprofit agency dedicated to supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, teen dating violence and stalking. The organization began in 1981 with a small group of concerned citizens. Volunteers are still a cornerstone of the success of HAVEN. HAVEN is more committed than ever to providing comprehensive and innovative programs that promote violence-free homes and communities. Our advocates are trained to inform survivors of their options, advocating for their rights and supporting them in their choices.
Goals
- Provide direct services to any child, teen, adult or family experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, teen-dating violence and/or stalking.
- Eliminate domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence and stalking through prevention education services to permanently break the cycle of violence, one family at a time.
- Support community efforts related to domestic violence, sexual assault, teen-dating violence and stalking.
- Offer programs that incorporate prevention, intervention, support and education for all individuals and the communities we serve.
- Advocate for public policies that make domestic and teen violence, sexual assault and stalking unacceptable in the communities we serve.
- Establishing HAVEN as a leader and community partner in promoting freedom from abuse and violence.
